Ingredients
- Plantains (raw bananas) - 2
- Coriander seeds - 3 teapoons
- Garlic – 2 pods (crushed)
- Turmeric powder - a dash
- Salt - to taste
- Curry leaves - few (optional)
- Mustard seeds - ½ teaspoon (optional)
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
Directions
1. In a spice blender, blend coriander seeds and red chilly coarsely. Keep them aside.

3. In a heavy pan, bring 1.5 cups of water to boil and drop the plantain slices into the water. Add a dash of salt to this. Cook the plantains for 10 to 15 minutes. When the plantains are cooked enough, remove from the fire ans set aside.
4. Now set a wide pan on stove and add oil followed by mustard seeds, curry leaves and allow them to splutter.
5. Finally add the ground spices, turmeric powder and salt.
6. Saute them till you get the aroma of the cooked garlic.
7. At this point add the bananas and toss well so all plantains are well coated with the spices and remove from the stove.
Serve them with any lentil curry(dhal). This combination is an excellent complement for rice or roti.
