We all love to eat mushrooms. With a significant amount of selenium in every serving, mushrooms could turn out to be important ingredients in a cancer-fighting diet, especially in lowering the risk of prostate cancer. This recipe makes a tantalizing mushroom curry using mushroom, potato and peas.
Ingredients
- Potato – (cut into small chunks as shown in picture)
- Mushroom – 10 ( cut into 2 pieces)
- Peas – 1/2cup
- Onion – 1 ( thinly sliced)
- Tomatoes – 2 (cut into small pieces) or tomato paste (1/2 tablespoon)
- Olive oil – 3 tablespoons
- Paprika – 1 teaspoon
- Curry powder – 2 teaspoons
- Red chilly – 1(broken into 2)
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric powder -1 teaspoon (optional)

To Grind
- Coconut grated – 4 tablespoon
- Cashews – 5 or 6
- Green chilly – 1 or 2 (if need more spicy u can add 2 more)
- Fennel seeds -½ teaspoon
- Cinnamon stick -1
- Cardamom seed -1
- Cloves -2 or 3
- Garlic pods -2 or 3
- Ginger – 1(small piece)

Grind the above ingredients into a smooth paste, adding water as needed.
Directions
1. Heat a deep bottomed pan and add 2 tablespoons of oil.
2. Add sliced onion and red chilly fry for 4 minutes. When the onion becomes translucent ,add potatoes and peas by adding 1 cup of water.
3. When potatoes and peas are half cooked, add mushroom and let it boil for 5 minutes.
4. Now its time to add the ground paste and allow it to boil for 10 minutes
5. Finally, add tomatoes and allow to boil for 5 minutes in high flame, till tomatoes are cooked. (If you like the curry to be thinner, you can add ½ cup of water.)
6. Now add salt. Creamy mushroom curry is ready.

Note: This goes well with rice, chapatti, and breads, dosa or parotta.
